Progressive Care (PCU)
The Progressive Care Unit provides an intermediate level of care to adult and geriatric patients. The unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and is located on the second floor
(MAP PDF).
Services Include
- Post-cardiac interventional therapy management
- Continuous telemetry monitoring
- Elective cardioversion
- Initiation and management of anti-arrhythmia drug therapy
- Initiation and management of vasoactive drug therapy
- Pulse oximetry monitoring
- Non-invasive continuous blood pressure monitoring
- Peritoneal dialysis

Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
The Coronary Care Unit specializes in cardiac care for adult and geriatric patients. The unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and is located on the second floor
(MAP PDF), adjacent to the ICU.
Services Include
- Post-cardiac interventional therapy management
- Management of critical drips
- Cardiac monitoring
- Arrhythmia detection and management
- Fibrinolytic therapy
- Intra-aortic balloon pump and invasive procedures (Swan Ganz catheters, A-line catheters, temporary pacemaker insertion and maintenance, etc.)
- Recovery of neurosurgical patients
All RN Staff are ACLS certified, 1:1 and 2:1 Patient/Nurse ratio, ventilator management, as well as house wide code blue and Rapid Response Teams. For more information about the Coronary Care Unit, call (270) 706-1749.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The Intensive Care Unit specializes in post-surgical care and is located adjacent to the Coronary Care unit on the second floor. The unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and is located on the second floor
(MAP PDF), adjacent to the CCU.
Services Include
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Management of Critical Drips
- Ventilator Management
- Cardiac Monitoring
- Arrhythmia Detection and Management
- Invasive Procedures (Swan Ganz, Temporary Pacemakers, etc.)
- Staff respond to house wide Code Blue Teams
- Recovery of cardiothoracic surgery
