Have you communicated your end-of-life healthcare wishes to your loved ones and/or physician?
Although healthcare providers cannot require you to have an advance directive, federal law requires hospitals and other healthcare facilities to inform patients about advance directives when they are admitted. Thus, many people first think about preparing an advance directive when they are admitted to a hospital or nursing home. It is a good idea to think about doing so now – while your health permits you to do so.
If you have questions or would like further information on advance directives, please contact our Patient Advocate at (270) 706-1327.
