Hardin Memorial Ambassador Of The Year 2007

Fritz, Transporter Medical Imaging.

"I was recently a patient at HMH and Fritz came to get me for a test in Radiology. He offered me a pillow and a blanket before we made the trip to Radiology through the hallways. He made sure he told me that “bumps” were coming whenever we passed over a doorway or outside the elevator. He talked to me in a comforting manner the whole way. Fritz makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world at the time he is taking care of you. He makes you feel safe and secure in situations when you are a patient and you are concerned about your health. Fritz is always pleasant to patients and co-workers and he shows pride in his job in everything he does. He is a great ambassador for HMH. Fritz could give lessons on how to be a great employee."

"I passed Fritz in the hall one morning and he was talking to his customer in such a caring tone. His words were comforting and sincere. I can always count on Fritz to approach me with a smile and sometimes a laugh. Not only does he smile incessantly, he also spreads cheer through his verbal expressions."

Hardin Memorial August 2008 Ambassadors

Jennifer, Registered Respiratory Therapist in Cardiac Rehab.
"I was in the lobby at HMH when I witnessed Jennifer assisting a visitor. This gentleman had been discharged from the Emergency Department. Jennifer discovered this man on the opposite end of the hospital. He was lost and somewhat confused. He said his sister was suppose to pick him up 45 minutes prior and he was unsure which entrance she would be at. Jennifer, who was off the clock, used her own cell phone in trying to contact the man’s sister and other family members. She stayed with him and continuously reassured him that everything would be okay. She took time away from her own family and agenda to assist in meeting the needs of this visitor. I would only hope that someone would take the time to assist me if I were in the same predicament. She should be commended on her excellent Service Plus skills she displayed! "

Kim, Medical Technologist in the Lab.
"Kim recently encountered a patient in the cafeteria. She asked the visitor if she could assist her. Within seconds Kim had responded to the patient’s need and had made a phone call on her behalf to find out what she could have to eat and showed the patient around the cafeteria. Kim is very involved in quality control for our department. She makes suggestions to improve efficiency. Kim does not take life lightly or for granted. She sees needs when others don’t and responds out of genuine concern."
