YOUR HOSPITAL BILL
Hardin Memorial Hospital strives to provide quality care at a reasonable cost to our patients. As a county-owned, not-for-profit hospital serving the region’s health care needs, we depend upon payment from insurance companies and patients to provide our services. If you anticipate having difficulty with payment for services at Hardin Memorial Hospital, we urge you to immediately consult our financial counselors at (270) 706-1565 for assistance.
If you have any insurance coverage, please bring your insurance card with you to the hospital. As a courtesy to you, we will file your hospital claims with your insurance company. You must give us the name and policy number of your insurance company and sign an authorization form. Please remember that you are responsible for any part of the bill not covered by your policy. You will receive separate bills for both hospital and physician services. The hospital’s charges include the cost of the room, nursing services, meals, drugs, laboratory tests, x-rays and supplies, etc. You may request an itemized bill from Patient Financial Services at (270) 706-1565.
You may receive physician bills from the following: emergency physicians, pathologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists and others. These charges will be billed to you separately by the individual physicians. Physician services are provided by private physicians who have privileges to practice at the hospital. Physicians are not agents or employees of the hospital, but are independent contractors. The physician(s) may or may not participate with your insurance company.
