When to Seek Care

Prior to seeking care, residents are encouraged to use the following guidelines to make the best decisions regarding their health.

Worried, but well
Do not immediately go to a hospital, emergency room (ER) or doctor’s office. If you are worried-well, going to a hospital or doctor’s office just further overwhelms medical staff and adds to a higher concentration of people.

Feeling ill, but otherwise would not have sought out medical care
If you have a fever or cough and, if it were not for COVID-19, you would not have otherwise sought care, do not immediately seek care at an ER, hospital or doctor’s office unless you feel your condition is urgent or emergent.

Call the Baptist Health Hardin Patient Symptom Hotline: (270) 979-7777

  • Nurses will field questions and direct patients to the appropriate level of care. The hotline is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Hotline use should be limited to those with symptoms or those with a loved one experiencing symptoms, such as a fever, cough or shortness of breath.

COVID-19 testing will be conducted by referral appointment only at the following Baptist Health Hardin outpatient locations:

  • Baptist Health Hardin Urgent Care Center – Elizabethtown at Ring Road Medical Plaza, 1111 Ring Road in Elizabethtown
  • Baptist Health Hardin Urgent Care Center – Radcliff at North Hardin Medical Plaza, 1360 Rogersville Road in Radcliff
  • Baptist Health Hardin Medical Group – Meade County Family Medicine at 534 Hillcrest Drive in Brandenburg
  • Baptist Health Medical Group Family Medicine at 3615 East John Rowan Blvd in Bardstown
  • *** Testing available based on prioritized criteria

If you want advice, call the state hotline at 1 (800) 722-5725 or your local health care provider.

If you are sick and feel you have an emergency
Call your doctor or seek medical care. The hospitals across the state stand ready to serve.
