The temperatures may have been chilly Tuesday evening but the sentiments were warm for the HMH Auxiliary’s Let Christmas Shine annual tree lighting celebration. Members of the community gathered to remember and honor loved ones, family and friends, colleagues, and others who have touched their lives.
Participants enjoyed refreshments, a festive dessert table, and Christmas music provided by the Heartland Dulcimer Club. The evening concluded with a heartfelt gathering outside the hospital to light candles, sing Silent Night and view the Christmas lights.
Each of the community members who attended had either sponsored or been honored with a light for Let Christmas Shine, an Auxiliary Scholarship fundraiser benefiting students from HMH’s 10-County Service Area.
For over 25 years, the HMH Auxiliary Scholarship Fund has presented $1000 scholarships to college students who are current residents or high school graduates of HMH’s 10-county service area (Hardin, LaRue, Meade, Breckenridge, Grayson, Nelson, Hart, Bullitt, Green and Taylor) that are going into the medical field.
