Temporary Suspension of Elective Procedures
Elective Procedures:
- Diagnostics and Imaging:
- HMH Outpatient Diagnostic and Imaging centers remain open.
- Diagnostic procedures (ex. diagnostic mammograms, ultrasound, biopsies, etc.) remain scheduled.
- Routine screenings (ex. screening mammograms, low-dose CT Scan, etc.) have been postponed.
- Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians will determine which procedures will be postponed and rescheduled.
- Surgical:
- In response to the recommendation of the U.S. Surgeon General, the American College of Surgeons, the Kentucky Hospital Association and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, HMH will suspend all elective surgical procedures.
- HMH staff will call to reschedule appointments.
- Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians will determine which procedures will be postponed and rescheduled.
HMH Temporary Visitation Guidelines
HMH is closely monitoring the evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. To protect patients, as well as the staff and community and in an abundance of caution, Hardin Memorial Health has temporarily implemented the following visitation guidelines until further notice.
- 1 Adult, healthy visitor over age 18 per patient at a time for patients in medical/surgical adult units, Critical Care (CCU) and Intensive Care (ICU) units, Palliative, Emergent and Hospice Care.
- 1 Adult healthy visitor per patient over the age of 18 during the hospitalization in BirthPlace/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- No visitation per the Kentucky Department for Public Health recommendations in the Skilled-Nursing Unit
- Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation on HMH main campus is closed until further notice.
- HMH Auxiliary program has been temporarily suspended.
- HMH Auxiliary Gift Shop is open from Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- All other HMH offices and locations are open to care for patients.
All visitors will be screened at entrances for fever, cough, sore throat or other flu-like symptoms. Those identified to have symptoms will not be permitted to visit. Anyone who has traveled to a high-risk area for COVID-19 or had contact with a person known to be infected with COVID-19 will also not be allowed to visit hospital patients.
We encourage visitors to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer.

- Nurses will field questions and direct patients to the appropriate level of care. The hotline open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Hotline use should be limited to those with symptoms or those with a loved one experiencing symptoms, such as a fever, cough or shortness of breath.

HMH Entrances
Emergency Department patients should enter through the normal Emergency Department entrance
- Visitors and those receiving outpatient services will enter through:
- Main Registration/Patient Pick –Up (front of building off Dixie Avenue)
- North Tower (near Layman)
- Diagnostic and Imaging on the Main Campus (located off of Woodland Drive) is open for patients with physician or advance practice clinician orders only.
