November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and it’s an important topic – especially in Kentucky, which leads the nation in instances of lung cancer and lung cancer deaths. But lung cancer is also one of the most preventable cancers and can be successfully treated if caught early.
“It’s important to know your options for screening and treatment of lung cancer,” said Dr. Navin Kaini, with Baptist Health Medical Group Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. “Know your facts and, if you are at risk, please come get a screening. It could save your life and advanced cancer care is right here in your backyard if you should ever need it.”
Dr. Kaini said with Baptist Health Hardin’s Multidisciplinary Lung Program, you don’t have to worry about “what if.”
“Since Baptist Health Medical Group Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, as well as Baptist Health Cancer Care Center is right here, you don’t have to travel to get advanced cancer care,” he said. “A team of physicians will design a plan and often begin treatments within a few weeks. We work together to plan the very best treatment for every individual patient.”
Baptist Health Hardin is also affiliated with the UK Markey Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute- designated cancer treatment facility in Kentucky, providing access to even more advanced treatments and clinical trials.
