Orthopedic surgeon Cody Bearden, M.D., has joined Jeffrey Been, M.D., Stuart Blankenship, M.D. and Marcis Craig, M.D., at Baptist Health Medical Group (BHMG) Orthopedics in Elizabethtown.
Dr. Bearden, an Indiana native, comes to Central Kentucky from Homer Stryker, M.D. School of Medicine in Kalamazoo, Mich. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery after attending medical school at the University of Indiana.
“Orthopedic medicine is a very rewarding field where patients are literally broken and we can help them heal,” Dr. Bearden said. “I cannot imagine a better place to start my practice than with my fellow orthopedic surgeons at Baptist Health Medical Group Orthopedics.”
Baptist Health Medical Group Orthopedics is a standout orthopedic clinic in Kentucky. In 2017, Baptist Health Hardin’s Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Program earned the Joint Commission’s Advanced Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Certification, the highest distinction from the nationally recognized accrediting body. The program was the first Kentucky program to receive the distinction.
“Our orthopedic program provides outstanding care to Central Kentucky patients of all ages,” said Thomas Hustead, M.D., Medical Director of the Baptist Health Hardin Medical Group. “As the demand for orthopedic care services continues to grow, it is great to add an outstanding physician like Dr. Bearden to an already outstanding team.”
Dr. Bearden specializes in orthopedic surgery, treating fractures and other sports-related injuries. He also specializes in knee, hip and shoulder replacement, knee and shoulder arthroscopy and cartilage and ligament repair.
BHMG Orthopedics is a busy practice that conducted more than 28,000 patient visits in 2019 among its three physicians and three advanced practice clinicians. Dr. Bearden sees patients at the BHMG Orthopedics clinic at 1111 Ring Road, Elizabethtown, Ky. 42701. The office phone is (270) 737-4343.
