What does Pathway to Excellence mean?

pathway to excellence banner

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) — one of the most respected organizations in the country — recognized Hardin Memorial Health with the Pathway to Excellence® designation.

Hardin Memorial Health is one of only seven hospitals in Kentucky to receive the designation and one of only 163 internationally. To obtain the designation, ANCC measured our nurses’ perceptions of quality, safety, shared-decision making, professional development, well-being, and leadership.

The Pathway recognition indicates the hospital is a best place to work for nurses, that nurses trust the hospital, and that the hospital supports them.

Several people were instrumental in achieving this goal, including Hardin Memorial Health Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Sharon Wright, MSN, RN, NE-BC; Director of Education Services and Hardin Memorial Health Pathway to Excellence Coordinator Aimee Wentz; Direct Care Nurse for Same Day Surgery Janette Stein; IT Clinical Systems Analyst Tara Huddleston; Direct Care Nurse Angela Wilson; Clinical Health Informatics Educator Tracy Evans; House Manager Mary Bailey; and Manager of Patient Experience and Pathway Program Coordinator at Baptist Health Richmond Marcie Backus, who served as a coach for Hardin Memorial Health during the application process.

Congratulations to all HMH nurses and staff for this outstanding distinction!
